Dance is a performing art and naturally its aesthetic culmination lies in reaching the audiences through performance. With this in mind, Kalavardhini organises various events and concerts in Pune , Mumbai and other cities, throughout the year spreading the message of beauty and art, thus enriching the human life.
This yearly programme is particularly organised to encourage the you talent. It is held in Pune every year in the month of November. It provides a platform for young talent to flourish. About hundred children from all the centres of Kalavardhini from Pune and outside, participate in this popular event.
Choreography Competition :
This competition is our unique feature. It is held in the month of February in Mumbai to encourage the creativity in Bharata Natyam classical dance. A choreography workshop is held for the participants prior to the competition.
Every year four recitals along with a discourse on the performance related topic are organised by us under the art awareness series. Nrityaswad particularly features the upcoming talented, young dancers. This series presents a variety of classical dance styles particularly focusing on increasing the audience appreciation of the finer aspects of Classical dance.
Purnendu Nrityawartan- :
These performances are our yet another effort to reach classical dance in all the strata of the society. These performances (8 concerts every month) by groups of Kathak and Bharat Natyam dancers are organised in the temples in various parts of the city. This movement is also spreading outside Pune.
This yearly concert held in the month of December is particularly organised for our dancers who have completed their advanced level Courses and are aspiring professionals. It gives them opportunity to showcase their performing ability.
To top it all, we organise this unique classical dance festival in the month of October on large scale. Parikrama literally means a circuitous course, a cyclical movement, a periphery. It is the continuation of fruitful existence, a journey that never ends.It brings together the veteran classical dancers of today and tomorrow. Along with Bharata Natyam it brings together the best in all other classical dance styles. It also generates new thought process by way of symposium. It takes into the periphery not only the dancers, musicians and scholars but also the Rasika-s.
